Stefan Pokorny

Stefan Alexander Pokorny is a classically trained painter and sculptor residing in Brooklyn, New York. He is the founder of Dwarven Forge, the industry leader in craftingminiature dungeon terrain and other sculptures for fantasy gaming. He’s also a highlysought after dungeon master within the gaming scene; his enthusiastic, theatrical games sell out immediately.

A South Korean orphan, Stephan was adopted by well-off European parents in New York City, with frequent family trips all over Europe. He absorbed art and architecture on these vacations, but as a teenager was drawn more to rebellion and delinquency on the streets of New York. Stefan credits his discovery of the fantasy roleplaying gameDungeons & Dragons around this time with his artistic awakening. Expelled from an elite high school, he transferred to Manhattan's High School of the Arts, where he was mentored by painter Irwin Greenberg. He would later go on to university at the prestigious Hartford Art School, where he flourished at painting and sculpture, earning his MFA in 1994.

Stefan founded Dwarven Forge in 1996. Using modern-day crowdfunding techniques tofund his intensely detailed sculptures and environments, his company has successfully tapped into a worldwide legion of loyal fans, making Dwarven Forge a true grassroots phenomenon.

Stefan Pokorny
